A Classic Guacamole Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3 ripe avocados, halved, pitted, and peeled
  • 1–2 cloves of garlic, minced (garlic powder can be substituted)
  • Juice of 1 lime (adjust to taste)
  • Salt to taste

The above is all you need for a basic guacamole. The ingredients below are optional but add great flavor.

  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 1 medium tomato, diced (seeds removed)
  • 1 small jalapeño, finely chopped (seeds removed for less heat)
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin for extra flavor

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Avocado: Scoop the flesh of the avocados into a mixing bowl. Mash with a fork until you reach your desired consistency (chunky or smooth).
  2. Add Optional Ingredients: Mix in the diced onion, tomato, minced garlic, jalapeño, and cilantro.
  3. Season: Add lime juice, salt, and cumin if using. Stir to combine.
  4. Adjust Flavor: Taste and add more lime juice or salt as needed.
  5. Serve: Serve immediately with tortilla chips or as a topping for tacos, burritos, or any of your favorite dishes.
