Ingredients
- 1 box Triscuit crackers
- 1 8oz package of cream cheese
- smoked salmon, sliced into 1 inch strips (I buy the 8oz when making for a crowd)
- 1 2oz jar of caviar (I prefer the Black Lumpfish)
- 3-4 radishes, sliced thin and hafted
- 2-4 springs fresh dill
- 2-4 springs fresh cilantro (optional)
Instructions
- Arrange the crackers on a plate. Place a dollop of cream cheese on top. Using a knife spread and flatten the cream cheese.
- Fold over 1 smoked salmon strip on top of the cream cheese for each cracker.
- Arrange 2 radish slices for each cracker. (If radishes don't stand up, coat the bottom with a little cream cheese to stick).
- Using a mini esspresso teaspoon or 1/4 tsp; place a small dollop of caviar over the smoked salmon.
- Place a small sprig or detached dill leaves over the top (do the same if using cilantro)
- If it looks pretty, serve and enjoy!
Notes
I typically use Triscuit crackers as the base, but the possibilities are endless—everything from different types of crackers to a mini loaf of bread, or even a rice cake could work. Dill is my go-to herb for garnish, but feel free to play around with your favorites. The only real “rule” for this appetizer is balance. The cream cheese, herbs, and a crisp veggie help cut through and complement the bold flavors of smoked salmon and caviar. Beyond that, you’ve got the freedom to get creative!
